American International School in Abu Dhabi Case Study

American International School in Abu Dhabi Case Study

Thursday 11 May, 14:30 - 15:30 BST

The American International School in Abu Dhabi has a truly diverse student population, encompassing over 75 nationalities and approximately 80% of the students speak English as an additional language.

The school already uses an external assessment to measure how students are performing within their curriculum but wanted to develop a more complete picture of their students:

  • Does the student’s ability match the achievement and if not why?
  • If a child appears to be underachieving, what are the reasons?

Stephany Herzog, Elementary Learning Support Coordinator, will describe how they have integrated measures of student ability and attitudes to provide the answers to these questions and to support a personalised approach to teaching.

Stephany will also discuss how the school has shared this information with parents and way the data supports a home-school dialogue.
