Online Workshop: Student Data Triangulation, Level 1

Online Workshop: Student Data Triangulation, Level 1

Sunday 28 May, 09:00 - Saturday 17 June, 20:00

Gain a greater understanding of the individual student

This online workshop will explain how schools can triangulate attitudinal data with the information from attainment and ability assessments to gain a greater understanding of the individual student. The course leader, Matthew Savage, Head of Secondary at the International Community School Amman, will also demonstrate how to use this data to identify, implement and monitor interventions.

The course will establish the importance of incorporating measures for ability, attainment and attitudes in a single “whole student” profile and incorporate case study examples to guide participants in the analysis and interpretation of the data.

Why do the course?

  • Outstanding international schools now know that effective use of quality data is essential, but it can be difficult to take the plunge and dive into the data for the first time
  • The course will demystify this essential process, and begin to enable colleagues to work autonomously and independently with a full range of student-level data in the interests of each individual student in their school

Participants should

  • Have some understanding and experience of using CAT4 data in their school;
  • Be confident in the use of multiple modes of formative and summative assessment;
  • Have a genuine interest in student attitudes to learning;
  • Be able to commit up to 5 hours per week for 3 weeks for the online course;
  • Be prepared to engage regularly throughout the course, including regular participation in forums and online tasks.

Course focus

Because attitudinal factors are a key component of this process, a significant part of the course will focus on the importance of attitudes and in understanding and analysing data from the PASS survey

Week 1:

  • What is triangulation?
  • Attitudes - PISA and beyond
  • Introducing the PASS survey

Week 2:

  • The 9 PASS measures
  • Interpreting the PASS scores
  • Attitudinal mapping

Week 3:

  • Student Profiles
  • Case Studies
  • Next steps

This online workshop will run from 28th May to 17th June. Apart from completing tasks within the allocated week, participants are free to carry out assigned tasks at times to suit their own schedule and time zone.

The delegate fee for this workshop is £150.
