The sessions will specifically address the challenge of evaluating the true abilities of EAL students and ensuring that they receive the support and challenge that will ensure the best possible outcome for each individual. Other illustrative cases will include the high-achieving but insecure student who needs to develop resilience and the disengaged who doesn’t have the toolkit to learn.
Aimed at school leaders and assessment co-ordinators who are not yet using standardised assessments, the presentations will refer to case study material and be supplemented by hands on analysis of sample data from GL Education’s Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4), Progress Test Series and Pupil Attitudes to Self and School survey.
The Beijing seminar will be led by Claire Dunn, GL Education’s International Manager and the Shanghai event by James Neill, GL Education’s International Director.
