The results from Progress Test in English (PTE) are analysed through a range of reports that are available instantly if you are a digital user, or via our Online Marking Tool (OMT) if you are a paper user.
The reports are intended for use by senior leaders, heads of year, SENCOs, class teachers and to be shared with individual students and their parents.
Data is presented in visually accessible tables, bar charts and scatter graphs that allow for easy comparison, as well as clear narrative explanations that explain the student profile and its implications for teaching and learning.
Example images, graphs, charts and narratives from PTE reports can be found in our sample reports brochure.
PTE Group Report for teachers
Available in both PDF and Excel format, this report provides a summary of the group’s performance in the test – including Standard Age Score (SAS), stanine, ranking, as well as progress categories, when previous test level has also been taken.
PTE Individual Student Report for teachers
Offers an in-depth analysis of an individual student’s results, along with any implications this may have on teaching and learning for each child.
PTE Individual Student Report for parents
Provides an overview of the test to ensure parents are aware of what it contains, and a snapshot of the student’s understanding of areas of the curriculum. It also includes information on how the parents can support their child’s learning at home.
When compared with ability data from our Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT4), results from PTE can reveal immediately whether or not students are reaching their full potential.
