Sunday 15 September, 09:00 - Saturday 05 October, 16:00

This workshop is facilitated by Matthew Savage, Principal, The International Community School, Amman. Matthew has shared his experience of student-level data in different schools at conferences around the world and has delivered workshops on the effective use of data in Asia, Europe and Africa.

What will the course cover?

  • The function and format of the CAT4 test
  • How to interpret and analyse the key data from the assessment
  • How to use the data to identify and meet a variety of different learning needs
  • How to share key learning about CAT4 with colleagues

Week 1:

  • What is CAT4? An introduction.
  • Sitting the CAT4
  • Reflection tasks
  • Forum discussion

Week 2:

  • Understanding your own CAT4 data
  • Key messages from the GL reports
  • Forum discussion

Week 3:

How does it work?

  • The course is delivered via an online portal
  • The course lasts three weeks and requires a commitment of up to 5 hours per week. Delegates can schedule their activity at times that are convenient for them, but should aim to engage early each week to take maximum advantage of the group dialogue.
  • Participants should be prepared to engage regularly throughout the course, including participation in forums and online tasks.
  • Your active contribution in these tasks and discussions is a pre-requisite of certification

Who should attend?

  • The course is designed for current users of CAT4 even if they have little understanding of how the data can be used
  • Participants should have access to, and ideally some responsibility for, whole school data in their school
  • Participants are expected to engage regularly with forum discussions, and full participation is likely
